Calvary Chapel Ascend has been formed as a fellowship of believers who desire to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ by studying God’s inerrant Word, and applying it authentically to our lives. We are affiliated with the Calvary Chapel Association founded by Pastor Chuck Smith in 1965 in Costa Mesa, California. We meet Sundays at 10 am, and Wednesdays at 7 pm. We gather in the Fellowship Hall of the College Ave Church of the Nazarene in Whittier, CA.

What you can expect from a Sunday service:

Prepare to be greeted by a smiling greeter and handed a bulletin. Worship begins at 10 am, followed by a responsive Psalm reading that ties into the sermon. We receive tithes and offering for all those who call Calvary Chapel Ascend their “home fellowship”. We then have an expository teaching from the Word of God after the worship. We teach from the Bible, book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse. Food and fellowship are available after service every Sunday. Children’s ministries are available.

Pastor Frank and Darleen Mayorga:

Pastor Frank is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Ascend and is supported in ministry by his wife Darleen. Darleen oversees the children’s ministry and the women’s ministry. Pastor Frank and Darleen were both saved at Calvary Chapel of Downey under the pastoral teaching and care of Pastor Jeff Johnson. They have been in the Lord for over 20 years and have served in many different capacities throughout their life and marriage. They have three children Luke, Anna, and Hope all of whom are homeschooled.
